Sunday, November 8th 10:00 AM we MEET, 10:30 AM we RIDE! Come out for Sanctuary's last bike ride of the year and get your legs in shape for the ski season. We are riding the Great Western Trail from St. Charles to Sycamore. This is mostly an old railroad grade with no big hills. It will be about 32 miles round trip, approximately 1/3 paved. The starting point is the Kane County Forest Preserve lot on the south side of Dean Street, approximately 0.4 mile west of Randall Road on the western edge of St. Charles. (This is directly opposite the entrance to the Leroy Oakes Forest Preserve). To get there, go west from St. Charles on Route 64 (Main St.) to Randall Road. Turn right (north on Randall) and go 0.4 mile to Dean St. Turn left (west) on Dean to the parking lot. While going west on Route 64 thru St. Charles, note Rookies bar on the left not long before you get to Randall Road. Then, afterwards we'll head over to Rookies' and enjoy their Special 1/2 lb Burgers, a cold beer and watch the end of the Chicago Bears & the Arizona Cardinals game. Whether you're biking or NOT stop by and join Sanctuary & friends relaxing at Rookies' sports bar with a wide variety of domestic, imported and draft beers to choose from. Rookies has been serving St. Charles and Kane County since 1998 and it's one of Sanctuary's favorites. It has one of the largest menu's in the area serving tantalizing burgers, scrumptious sandwiches, super salads, delicious BBQ ribs or chicken, Mexican, pasta, steaks and more!
