in Port Washington
Friday Evening, July 24
Port Washington is a lovely little harbor town
30 Miles North of Milwaukee
(Approximately 145 miles from Downers Grove, IL)
Friday night, July 24 - Drive up, check out the town, relax and have dinner on your own or meet up with others staying that night.
Saturday,
July 25 - Bikers leave from the hotel at 10:00 am and bike 15
miles on the scenic Ozaukee Trail to historic Cedarburg, Wisconsin. The
trail is paved and mostly flat. We pick up the trail directly behind the
hotel, so no driving to the trailhead.
Once we arrive in Cedarburg, you can browse the quaint shops and have
lunch on one of the outdoor patios. Cedarburg is listed on the National
Register of historic places so there is plenty to see and explore. Get
more information and visit
www.cedarburg.org. Afterward, bike the 15 miles back to Port
Washington. Take a swim in the pool, walk along the harbor in town, or
have a drink on the hotel patio.
Early evening, - we can have dinner at one of the fine local restaurants. I will make a reservation for those that wish to dine as a group.
Saturday night, Night - The Steve Miller Bandwill be performing at the Washington County Fair in West Bend, Wisconsin about 18 miles away. Bring your lawn chair or a blanket, we can carpool to the fairgrounds. Tickets are $10 and include admission to the fair and the concert. Show starts at 8:30 pm.
You can return to Port Washington after the concert to spend another night, or drive back to Chicago.
Hotel reservations, meals, and transportation are on your own, the club will not be collecting money for that. You can choose to stay Friday and/or Saturday nights. We have a block of non-smoking rooms available at the Holiday Inn Harbor View in Port Washington. The hotel is nice and located in the heart of town, right on the lake. Indoor swimming pool, hot tub, lounge, outdoor patio restaurant, and free parking for hotel guests.

We have a group rate of $109 plus tax per nite (double occupancy) - use

The hotel will be holding the rooms and guarantees the rate until July 3. After that, the rooms will be released and rates/availability are not guaranteed. You may cancel your reservation up to 6pm on the day of your arrival with no penalty.
Please let me know if you plan to go, and if you would like to share a room and do not already have a roommate. I can let you know who else is looking for a roommate or possibly a carpool to Port Washington.
